- To ensure the longevity of the spray tan, you must exfoliate your entire body before you are sprayed.
- Decide what you are going to wear during your spray tan. You can be sprayed in a bathing suit, in panties and bra or nude. If you choose to be sprayed in a bathing suit or panties and bra, be aware that this product will stain any fabric. Artistic Ink is not responsible for the damage or loss of any garment.
- For optimal results, choose an appointment time and day that will allow you to limit your activities the rest of the day.
The Spray Tan Experience:
- Make sure that there are no oils, lotions, perfumes or make-up on your body before your spray tan.
- Wear your desired spraying outfit under loose clothing that is unimportant to you. Again, this product will stain any fabric that it comes in contact with until you are dry. If you perspire after the spray tan, the bronzers in the solution can and will stain your clothing.
- Once you arrive for your appointment, we will apply a cream to certain areas of your body to prevent dark spots in the tan. (Example: the webbing in between your fingers.)
- The actual spray tan will take only about 5 minutes.
- Upon completion of the spray tan, you will be asked to stand and rotate in front of a fan to dry. You will know that you are dry when you are not "sticky" any more.
- Once you feel that you are dry, you can redress.
After Your Spray Tan:
- You should not shower or bath until 24 hours after your spray tan.
- For optimal results, you should consider purchasing our tan extending lotion. It will help ensure the longevity of your tan.
- Try and do very little physical activity following your spray tan. The less you perspire, the better your tan will be.
- Apply a quality lotion to your body each day.
- Do not be alarmed if during your first shower following your spray tan, you see "color" washing off. This is only the bronzers in the product; your tan is NOT washing off.

How long will my spray tan last?
This product works on the first seven layers of your skin. The average person looses one layer of skin per day. Therefore, the average person will hold their tan for seven days. However, if you exfoliate before your spray tan and use a tan extending lotion after your spray tan, you will most likely retain your tan for 10 to 12 days. If you really want to stretch the life of your spray tan, we sell a product that you can purchase and apply yourself. This product is for touching up your spray tan or the areas that fade the fastest.
Will I look orange?
No, this product is designed to give you a natural tan look.
Is this safer than lying in a tanning bed?
Yes, lying in a tanning bed exposes your skin to harmful UV rays.
Will this product damage my tattoo?
No, this product will wear off of the tattooed area and will not damage any colors in the tattoo.
Can I get my face sprayed?
Yes, this product is not harmful to your face and will produce the same results on your face as it does on the rest of your body.
